Photographer and Documentarian Tee Max will be part of an ‘In Conversation’ style event as part of the programming for his latest exhibition, The Ascension Years.
Hidden In Plain Sight: A (re)introduction to Tee Max is an intimate one-on-one discussion with the photographer. Hosted by artist and curator Lauryn Lawrence, the session will discuss his career, creative practice and The Ascension Years, Tee’s latest photographic exhibition at Black Cultural Archives.
The display of largely unseen images of some of Hip-Hop and R’n’B’s biggest stars comes as the genre celebrates its 50th birthday in August. Guests will hear the stories behind the exhibition’s iconic photographs and discover the man behind the lens.
For music and photography lovers and those interested in Black British history, this is a unique opportunity to experience The Ascension Years – and Tee – from a different perspective.
The event will take place at the only national heritage centre for the preservation of African and Caribbean history, Black Cultural Archives on Friday 1 September 2023 from 6:30pm. Tickets are available via Eventbrite with all proceeds being donated to Black Cultural Archives
